Red Menina jug

38 €

In the old days, this jug was traditionally used in bigger sizes to take water from the fountain or river and bring it home when there was no running water. Women would slowly return to the village with the jug on their heads.

This shape is the traditional one of the south of Catalonia.
It reminds us of Velázquez’s meninas.

We like the contrast of the traditional shape and the contemporary colours like pink. The old and the new.
