We discovered this piece while visiting a blown glass workshop during a family trip. We fell in love with it.
They are glass circles like those at cathedrals' stained glass, but in a larger size. Very few blown glass artisans, only the oldest ones, know how to make them, because their large dimensions.
Gaudí also designed stained glasses with glass circles similar to these. Look at the last photo of Casa Batlló in Barcelona.
In the middle of the tray there is the mark where the glass comes off the blower, unmistakable sign that it is blown glass.
Of very attractive simplicity, we use it at home to serve tapas… A large green glass splash spread on a table… It reminds us of a planet.
